The Best Real Housewives Franchise is Back, Baby!
All my thoughts on The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8 Premiere
The best Bravo Housewives franchise is BACK, and I am THRILLED. I love these women. They are one of the strongest casts on Bravo and I am so happy to have them back on my screen. It always seems like an eternity between seasons of Potomac for me.
All the ladies look amazing and seem to be thriving, except the obvious one who seems to be struggling: Robyn.
The episode mainly revolved around her and Juan, so that’s who we’re gonna talk about today because my face during this episode was…something.
One of the reasons that I love reality TV, perhaps the MAIN reason, is that it is an elite class in sociology. Is it sometimes produced? Of course! But one of the things that makes RHOP unique is that you can tell most of these women are more than co-workers—they are truly friends and that authenticity adds a deeper layer that shines through.
Ok, so back to Robyn and Juan…
Before I get into this, I need everyone to know that I am not attacking Robyn. I truly empathize with her, and I find her situation and response to it fascinating. However, at the same time, I do not see her as a victim, because she is an intelligent, grown woman who is choosing to accept this behavior from Juan. I just needed to get those clarifications out of the way.
First off, the tension between her and Juan is THICQUE. It could be cut with a knife. You can tell there is something very heavy right below the surface. They have obviously rehearsed their story and how they’re going to address it on camera, because there’s no glazing over it. There is nothing natural about how they address the affair allegations or about why he really lost his job at Coppin State.
