The Girl With the Purple Hair: Part 2
Sophia attends Stanford University and meets a charismatic woman that reveals different parts of Sophia and changes her life forever.
Sophia entered her dorm. Kicked off her shoes and sat her backpack on the floor next to her bed. She was alone. She was sure Jessica was still out having a great time on her date, which Sophia was grateful for because she needed a moment alone to process her thoughts. She slowly sat down on the edge of her bed, a hand placed on either side of her as she slightly hunched forward and breathed steadily with her brow furrowed.
What is going on? What are these feelings? She thought.
Sophia turned so that she was facing the end of her bed before lying down. Her mind was racing. She rolled over on her left side so that she was facing the wall.
Sophia had only ever been attracted to men. She had gay and lesbian friends, and definitely saw herself as an ally, but never thought herself to be part of that community. She just always thought she was straight. She had never been attracted to any woman before.
What was happening? How? Sophia thought. Having a crush on Frankie was the only explanation for how she’d been feeling. For how her body physically reacted, involuntarily from the very first moment they spoke and she saw that smile she loved so much.
She lay there, lost in her own thoughts. She wasn’t sure for how long. She heard her phone ding. She pulled it out of her pocket and saw Frankie’s name across the screen and her heart skipped a beat.
She opened the text.
“I’m home.” It read.
“Great. Thanks for letting me know. Tonight was fun.” She replied, and quickly locked her phone and rolled over to place it on her desk.
Yeah. I’m definitely into Frankie. Big time.
